This piece is about the emotions of the market we all get to ride when we dive into Bitcoin, whether you’re a market moving whale or a little trader getting tossed about in the waves! "The Tale of Life" is an emotional and visual metaphor, we can all relate to.
Balaena is the first Latin name given to whales in the order of their species. The original of this artwork is a metallic watercolour, which was painted with finely ground fossilised whale vertebrae, found off the West Coast of South Africa - most likely millions of years old. So you have true prehistoric whale energy infused into this painting. The finished painting was then “charged” with the Moonlight of the very rare Super Blue Moon (the next one is only in 2037).
Just like the cycles of life, or the ups n downs we go through in life, the stories and emotions we travel through... let's remember, amidst all of this, we can still find peace - all will be good again. The platinum leafing is a delicate process that takes time and attention to detail and is done with a lot of love and care.H.M.P. means "hand modified print". Usually, a ltd edition series is only signed by the artist - and that's it. Here, each individual artwork is also hand leafed with precious metals. It is a super delicate process and usually takes 3-5 layers of metal leafing to get a nice shine.
Imitation gold or silver can be printed (it's called foil), whereas precious metals cannot go through a printing marchine, it can only be done by hand. This individual modification is what sets these artworks apart from the rest.

Although this art print is printed with UV colour safe inks AND has been treated with UV protection spray, it is not recommended to hang it in a spot that get's strong direct sunlight during the day. If you must, then I recommend using UV safe glass as a double precaution, when you get it framed locally. Museum glass, is AMAZING, and also more pricey. You can't see the glass at all as it has zero reflections, it is the absolute best glass if you want to go all out.
When unwrapping and handling the print, please take care, with clean hands or using white gloves. Do NOT roll it in the opposite direction to the natural curvature of the paper (the same direction you received it in). In stead, I suggest asking the framers to flatten it for a day or 2, before they frame it.As paper has memory, try not to keep it rolled up for too long (a couple of weeks at most) - having it framed will be the best way to preserve and protect it.
