The Gold in My Veins

These 2 highly textured originals remind me of gold veins flowing through a midnight coloured piece of rock. I recently went down a dark n veeery deep gold mine in Johannesburg, and for the first time in my life I saw the natural gold veins embedded in the rockface of the tunnels. It made me feel in awe of nature, and the time and sheer effort man puts into getting this shiny stuff out of the ground. Gold has an energetic pull to it, that humans just can't resist.

Acrylic, Crystalline, Pure Pigment & immitation Gold Leaf on Canvas

(I didn't use genuine gold leaf here, as it was too shiny, and didn't look "impure or dirty" enough for it to look like a natural, embedded gold vein. I didn't want it to stand out too much. It's really just right as it is if you ask me).

Diptych which can be hung in such a way that the 2 pieces correspond with each other, or in an alternative, modular arrangement. The edges are painted so that framing is not essential. Custom framing & colour available as optional addition on request. I quite like these without a frame tho.
